We have taken steps to ensure the Allegacy website complies with the best practices from the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the AA level. This means the website meets or exceed the standards of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
When adding new content to the website, it is important to ensure your site continues to meet current accessibility guidelines. If you ever have a question on whether or not new content is compliant, reach out to your Account Manager.
Alt Tags
- Be sure that all images have descriptive alt tags. Example below.

Note that if your photos do not display captions on the website than no need to fill this field in the wp admin area. Alt tags is what screen readers use.
Meaningful Links
- Ensure all links are meaningful (avoid “click here” links)
- Example of a meaningful link: Residential Membership Application
Note when possible avoid “learn more” links as well as this is not meaningful to visitors.
- Add titles and explanatory text to any charts or infographics
- If adding a table or modifying a table, be sure that column and row headers are appropriately identified
