The Yoast SEO Plugin is a wonderful WordPress plugin that allows WordPress editors to type in various information for their posts and pages that help search engines find, and accurately describe the post or page.

Using the Yoast Tool

After the SEO plugin is enabled, WordPress editors can visit their post or page within the WordPress admin. When editing a post or page, underneath the main editing section the SEO plugin has several fields that can be updated for SEO.

The Title

The title is one of the most important elements for SEO. The text entered in the title field of the SEO plugin is the main link that shows up in search results. “Most search engines use a maximum of 60 characters for the title.”

The Description

The description, when entered into the description field of the SEO plugin, is the same description that shows up in search results underneath the title. “Most search engines use a maximum of 160 characters for the description.”
